Ohio’s congressional map was redrawn for 2026, but District 14 changed very little. It continues to include all of Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula and Trumbull counties, adds a small part of Mahoning County, and slightly adjusts which part of Portage County is included. By the Ohio Redistricting Commission’s own numbers, the district leans Republican 58.5 to 41.5.

What these offices actually do
Several of these jobs are more consequential than their titles suggest.
Governor. Proposes the budget, runs the agencies, and holds the veto pen. A veto only means something if the legislature cannot override it.
Attorney General. Represents the state in court, and — this matters more than most people realize — reviews and certifies the summary language of proposed citizen ballot initiatives. Every citizen-led amendment in Ohio, including every attempt at redistricting reform, has to pass through that office before a single signature counts.
Secretary of State. Ohio’s chief elections officer. Sets directives that county boards must follow, and sits on the Ballot Board, which writes the language voters actually read on their ballots.
Auditor. Audits every public entity in Ohio — school districts, townships, counties, state agencies. This is the corruption-finding office. It is also a seat on the Ohio Redistricting Commission.
Treasurer. Manages state funds and investments.
Ohio Supreme Court. The final word on Ohio law, including whether legislative maps comply with the Ohio Constitution. In 2022 this court repeatedly found the General Assembly’s maps to be unconstitutional partisan gerrymanders.
